Ross is an accomplished attorney with a rare combination of global legal experience, multilingual abilities, and a sharp analytical mind honed through years of work in both domestic and international legal environments. He brings to the firm a unique background, with a focus on cross-border commercial litigation, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary disputes.

Ross began his legal career after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he specialized in international trade and finance law and served as class representative in the International Law Society. His academic credentials are reinforced by his completion of rigorous legal and language programs across the globe, including China, Taiwan, and Guatemala. He studied Chinese law at Peking University and interpreted proceedings at the People’s Court in Beijing for foreign observers, gaining firsthand insight into foreign judicial systems.

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Thiru Vignarajah, Ross practiced at a boutique Maryland firm where he handled complex probate and trust litigation. His work involved high-stakes fiduciary disputes requiring precision, discretion, and courtroom advocacy—skills that continue to serve clients in more sophisticated business and cross-jurisdictional matters today.

Ross’s experience includes internships at two Shanghai-based firms. At Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, he advised on inbound and outbound foreign direct investment (FDI) regulations, ensuring compliance with both Chinese and U.S. legal frameworks. At DaoLuFa LLP, he analyzed and translated international licensing agreements and joint venture contracts, supporting Fortune 500 companies and emerging market entrants alike.

Ross joined the Law Offices of Thiru Vignarajah to return to his roots in international and corporate litigation. Fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Spanish, he is instrumental in matters involving multinational transactions, international arbitration, and regulatory risk across borders. His practice today centers on resolving disputes where jurisdictional complexity, regulatory ambiguity, and multinational parties pose high-stakes legal and reputational risks.

Ross’s career reflects a deep commitment to legal excellence at the intersection of local advocacy and global commerce. His ability to translate across languages, legal systems, and business cultures makes him a key asset to our litigation team and to clients navigating today’s interconnected legal landscape.
