ABOUT THIRU
Former Deputy Attorney General of Maryland Thiru Vignarajah attended Yale University and Harvard Law School, where he served as President of the Harvard Law Review. He then clerked for Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals and Justice Stephen G. Breyer on the United States Supreme Court. Thiru served as a federal and city prosecutor before being named Deputy Attorney General. He subsequently joined a multinational law firm as a litigation partner for five years and then became managing partner of the Baltimore office of one of the nation's largest civil rights firms.

The son of Baltimore City school teachers and a proud product of public schools himself, Thiru has run for Mayor and State’s Attorney for Baltimore. Although his campaigns fell short, Thiru has honored his pledge to continue to fight for the people of Baltimore and beyond.

On some of the most consequential issues, Thiru has stood up for the disadvantaged and disenfranchised — and has won. From taking down BGF gang members to taking on BGE’s bullying practices, Thiru’s tireless and fearless work has made him the voice of the people.​
